We imagine a culture of wellness beyond separation, supremacy, and scarcity, where all of us have what we need to thrive on our own terms and experience the full, joyful interdependence of our humanity.

CTZNWELL began nearly 15 years ago organizing around a simple belief: no one is well unless everyone is well. That belief took us into the Fight for 15, food justice campaigns, voter engagement, and years of movement work alongside frontline organizers, fighting for the conditions where everyone can thrive.

The wellbeing gap in this country is real and wherever there is a higher prevalence of poverty and unemployment, lack of access to housing and public transportation, you find people who are struggling to survive much less be well. We are not separate from the suffering of our people and planet, and a practice rooted in interconnection and compassion calls us to act on behalf of the whole, not just a few.

In the absence of systems that take care of us, we take care of us. CTZNWELL is fueling a people-powered movement to close the wellbeing gap and fight for the conditions where everyone can thrive. We help people get activated on the issues that matter, build the skills to care for themselves and each other, and build the collective power to resist unjust systems and shape the policies of care we actually need. We grow together through political education, capacity building and collective action towards building a future that we all deserve.

Theory of Change

Our theory of change begins with people. Through practice, community, and action, we transform ourselves and restructure our world to create the conditions where everyone can be well on their own terms.

We engage in deep transformational work around our values, and are led through relationship to justice issues like anti-racism, abortion rights, immigration, climate, food systems, living wage, and more. We partner with campaigns led by the people most directly impacted by injustice and respond in conscious and creative disruption and reimagination of our world. We aspire to move and unify our community at a scale that will have an impact at a systemic and global level.

Shared Values

  • Fundamental belonging: We support radical inclusion and open borders.

  • Inherent dignity: We fight for BIPOC and LGBTQ lives and center the voices of the most marginalized.

  • Mutual responsibility: We believe that we are interdependent and all play a powerful role in collective liberation and wellbeing.

  • Sufficiency not scarcity: We believe in mutual and cooperative economies and reject capitalist culture that rewards some at the expense of others.

  • Radical generosity: We believe in reparations and what’s necessary to heal and dismantle the wounds of white supremacy and other systems of oppression.

  • Wild agency: We celebrate self determination and choice.

  • Compassionate action: We invest in civil disobedience and the lineage of non-violent resistance.
